EndNote

What is EndNote?

EndNote is a citation management tool you can use to:

  • Create a personal library of searchable references.
  • Insert citations into a Word document in a preferred style or in a format required by a journal.
  • Generate a bibliography automatically.
  • Add available full text to references in your library.
  • Share your library of references with fellow researchers who use EndNote.

EndNote Desktop

Runs on both the Windows and Mac platforms and can be downloaded to your computer/laptop. The program and your library of references are stored locally on your computer.

EndNote Online This web based version of EndNote gives you access to your library from anywhere with an internet connection. You can use it as a standalone or in conjunction with EndNote Desktop. It has a more limited range of features than the Desktop.

Note: A mobile app for EndNote is available for iPad and iPhone. View the guides here.
