Researchers can search and browse the extensive Overton database to discover which of their research papers are cited in the indexed policy documents and how frequently. The comprehensive full-text indexing of the database provides researchers with a complete picture of how their work is cited or mentioned. This information serves as a valuable reference when preparing policy impact stories in situations such as grant applications and evaluation exercises. Additionally, researchers can leverage the Overton platform to plan for impact by identifying policy evidence gaps, locating policy organizations interested in their research fields, and exploring debates and trends in policy areas relevant to their work.
