Finding Law Journal Articles

Abbreviations

Legal materials are generally cited by abbreviated title. Unfortunately, abbreviations are not searchable in library catalogues. So you need to look up the full title of the abbreviation before you can check if a library has the journal you want. There are different ways to find out the full title of a journal. The Cardiff University’s website http://www.legalabbrevs.cardiff.ac.uk/ contains a search function for such purpose. Alternatively, the book Index to Legal Citations and Abbreviations by Donald Raistrick (Law Reference Coll KD400 .R35 2013) may also be used.
