Dissertation? Thesis? What's the difference?

  • CityU   Definitions
  • U.S.A.   "Dissertation" refers to Ph.D. doctorate.  "Thesis" refers to master's degree.
  • United Kingdom "Thesis" refers to both Ph.D. doctorate and master's degree by research.
