Open Access 3: CityUHK Scholars and Green OA

CityUHK Scholars and Green OA

Publications that are not Open Access (OA) on the publisher's website at the time of publication (i.e. not OA publishing) can still achieve OA through the Green OA route.

The Library supports CityUHK community's Green OA needs via CityUHK Scholars platform (the integrated research information system of CityUHK). Authors can submit the postprint manuscript of their publications to the Library. Upon receiving the files, the Library will:

  • Verify if the file version is correct;
  • Check the publisher's Green OA policies;
  • Process the file deposit in accordance with any embargo period and credit line requirements, if applicable.

You can achieve Green OA through one of the following methods.

Reply to the Library's Regular Invitations for Green OA Manuscripts

The Library regularly invites postprint submissions for Green OA self-archiving for recently harvested publications. Faculty members will receive periodic emails from the Library requesting postprint archiving. Simply reply to those emails with the postprint files, and the Library will handle Green OA file archiving in accordance with the publisher's policies.

To facilitate record metadata enhancement, please also specify the project title and number if the publication arises from a research project.

Self Submissions

In addition to responding to the Library's regular Green OA invitations, CityUHK members can also submit manuscript copies directly to the Library using the submission buttons below:
