Research Guides: Green Open Access: How to self-archive your papers

A step-by-step guide on self-archiving your papers:

(1) Locate the Postprint files of your research outputs
RGC: Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) application form To avoid violating copyright restrictions, you are advised to keep your Postprint files well and use them for self-archiving. For many funders, publishing gold open access or self-archiving the postprint version is required for their funded projects. Please check carefully on your funders’ requirements if your research outputs are from funded projects.
(2) Send the Postprint files to the Library via online submission form or email

If yes, please specify. Any project(s) in CityUHK Scholars is/are related to these publications? If yes, please specify. A copy of the related publishing agreement or copyright transfer agreement. (3) The Library will check and follow up on the self-archiving
The Library will check with the manuscript versions, potential embargo periods, credit line requirements etc. to ensure your self-archiving actions comply with publishers’ policies The Library will contact you if any follow-up information is required. After the above actions, the Library will deposit the Postprint files into CityUHK Scholars record and make it publicly accessible on the CityUHK Scholars portal.
