This workshop provides an introduction to large language models (LLMs) and explores their diverse applications across various domains. R is a widely used software for statistical analysis that is available for free. This workshop will utilize RStudio Cloud to conduct descriptive statistical analysis and provide practical demonstrations.

  • import data from Excel and CSV files into R, and use different R packages and functions to conduct descriptive statistical analysis, including mean, mode, median, and standard deviation;
  • create visualizations of data using R plot.

Participants will learn how to calculate and interpret both descriptive statistics and common inferential statistical tests, enabling them to analyze data and draw meaningful insights.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • utilize Excel to calculate and interpret a variety of descriptive statistics,including mean, median and standard deviation;
  • apply Excel to perform common inferential statistical tests, such as t-tests, ANOVA, correlation, and linear regression; and
  • employ G*Power to determine appropriate sample sizes for their research.
