What is EndNote?

 

EndNote is a citation management tool that offers several features to simplify your research and writing process:

  • Build a personalized, searchable library of references.
  • Insert in-text citations into your documents using Microsoft Word or Google Docs, formatted in your preferred citation style or according to journal requirements.
  • Automatically generate bibliographies.
  • Find full texts of your references directly through EndNote.
  • Share your references with other EndNote users.

 

EndNote Desktop

EndNote desktop software is available for both Windows and Mac computers, allowing you to download it directly onto your device. Both the software and your reference library are stored locally on your computer or laptop.

Web-based EndNote The web-based version of EndNote enables you to access your library from any location with an internet connection.
EndNote mobile app for iPad and iPhone You can view the guides here. Note that the app is not available for Android or other mobile operating systems.
