EndNote

What is EndNote?

EndNote is a citation management tool you can use to:

  • Create a personal library of searchable references.
  • Insert citations into a Word document in a preferred style or in a format required by a journal.
  • Generate a bibliography automatically.
  • Add available full text to references in your library.
  • Share your library of references with fellow researchers who use EndNote.

EndNote Desktop

Runs on both the Windows and Mac platforms and can be downloaded to your computer/laptop. The program and your library of references are stored locally on your computer.

EndNote Online This web-based version of EndNote gives you access to your library from anywhere with an internet connection. You can use it as a standalone or in conjunction with EndNote Desktop. It has a more limited range of features than the Desktop.

Note: A mobile app for EndNote is available for iPad and iPhone. View the guides here.
