Download EndNote Desktop 20 to your computer/laptop: Download EndNote: Windows or Macintosh (restricted to current CityU staff and students)

Before installing, perform the following steps:

1. Check the compatibility and system requirements: Compatibility and system requirements​.
2. Back up any existing EndNote library files and any customized content files (e.g. output styles, connection files).
3. Uninstall previous version of EndNote. For information, refer to EndNote: Upgrade from an older version.
4. Close all open programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software.

Tip:

If you are about to finish your paper or thesis and/or using EndNote X9, it is better for you NOT to upgrade to EndNote 20.
