Locate your public researcher profile and backend account Populate “Overview” page with biography Authorise trusted persons to help
(2) Your Prior Publications for CityUHK Scholars – Library's One-off Retrospective Harvesting
Respond to Library’s invitation email enquiring about your prior affiliation information to facilitate Library’s record harvesting Respond to Library’s authorship confirmation email for the publication records harvested with your verified Scopus Author ID (if any) Conduct manual input of the publication records not covered by Scopus Note: Only Library-validated publication records are visible on CityUHK Scholars researcher profile
(3) Your New CityUHK Publications for CityUHK Scholars – Library's Ongoing Regular Harvesting
Respond to Library’s email to claim / disclaim authorship of the publication records harvested from Scopus, Web of Science and CAJD Respond to Library’s request for supplementary information for record validation and RGC category confirmation Conduct manual input of the publication records not covered by Scopus, Web of Science and CAJD Note: Only Library-validated publication records are visible on CityUHK Scholars researcher profile
(4) CityUHK Scholars and Open Access
Visit the Open Access (OA) Support Site to understand the OA concepts and benefits, colours and routes, Creative Commons licenses, and the Research Grants Council (RGC)’s OA requirements The Library supports OA publishing and archiving. (5) Your Other Research Activity and Achievement Records
Create records for your other achievement with reference to the user guides to enrich your profile Records include Research activities, Prizes/Honours, Press/Media, Impact Cases, Datasets, etc. Records for Projects not covered by RO’s ERIC system require HoD’s approval and RO’s validation
(6) Records with Automatic Synchronization that Require No Efforts from You
Some contents are automatically synchronized to CityUHK Scholars from institutional data sources. You do not need to create them yourself, just wait for the synchronization to take place Synchronized records include Projects (those included in RO’s ERIC system), Patents (CityUHK), and Research Student Supervision and Theses information
(7) CityUHK Scholars Records for Reporting and Appraisal
Keep your publication list up-to-date to avoid last minute rush for year-end reporting and appraisal Understand RGC categories and input records under the right categories Do what mentioned in (3) and (5) at your earliest convenience
(8) ORCID Exercise via CityUHK Scholars (Mandatory for all Faculty)
Respond to Library’s invitation email for the ORCID Exercise Benefits: author name disambiguation across different platforms and databases, daily synchronization of validated records from CityUHK Scholars to ORCID, etc.
(9) Workshops and User Assistance
Enroll for a Training Workshop (when available) or request for a Consultation Session Refer to points of contact for different enquiries on CityUHK Scholars Support Page
